Mathaf Encyclopedia of Modern Art and the Arab World, Doha, Qatar

Samia Touati, Ph. D. established the standardization processes and co-developed the Contributor’s Guidelines of Mathaf Encyclopedia Modern Art and the Arab world as member of the initial founding team of Mathaf Encyclopedia 2012-2016, Doha, Qatar, and worked with the former founding Director of Research Professor Nada Shabout.

Touati authored the first peer-reviewed biographies that served as sample standardized entries of the Mathaf Encyclopedia. As the Founding Research and Editorial Manager of Mathaf Encyclopedia, Touati worked on the verification of facts and data on artists and artwork from the Arab world and standardization of art terminologies, glossaries and Arabic style while working closely with specialized peer reviewers, academics, scholars, researchers, authors, editors, translators, artists, art institutions, estate holders, and the founding Mathaf Research team.

Standardized and peer reviewed Arab Artists biographies provide a significant resource for students, researchers and scholars working on artists and art from the Middle East and North Africa.
